The Immersive Review ("TIR," "we," "our") is an independent editorial publication covering immersive, spatial, and interactive cinema. We take your privacy seriously and keep our data practices minimal and transparent. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have
1. What We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to operate the publication and send our newsletter, Full Immersion.
Email Address
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. That's it — no name required unless you choose to provide one.
Usage Data
Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace automatically collects basic analytics data — such as pages visited, browser type, and general geographic region — to help us understand how the site is used. We do not use any third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels).
Cookies
Squarespace uses cookies to operate certain site features and collect analytics data. These are standard first-party cookies. We do not set any additional tracking or advertising cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your email address is used for one purpose: to send you
Full Immersion, our newsletter covering immersive media, editorial commentary, and publication updates. We do not sell your email address. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand what content resonates with our audience. We cannot identify individual readers from this data.
3. How We Store Your Information
Your email address is stored within Squarespace's email marketing platform. Squarespace's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at squarespace.com/privacy.
We do not maintain additional databases of subscriber information outside of Squarespace.
4. Your Rights
You can unsubscribe from Full Immersion at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Your email will be removed from our list promptly.
If you'd like to request deletion of your data or have questions about what we hold, email us directly at the address below. We'll respond within 30 days.
5. Children's Privacy
The Immersive Review is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. International Visitors
TIR is operated from Virginia, United States. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with data protection laws, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By signing up for our newsletter, you consent to this transfer.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll note the updated effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may send a notice to our subscriber list.
